The Shed Project - Outside
We began work on the inside of the shed several weeks ago. It's coming along. Light coming through the back wall
was explained by the fact that the outside tongue and groove siding boards were falling off. The back of the shed
may only be accessed from the neighbors yard. Since they were out of town this weekend, we decided it would be
the ideal time to attend to repairs. We bought 4 X 8 siding by the sheet and installed it over the old boards,
which were too far gone to repair or replace. A bit of paint, and the rear of the shed was good for another ten years.
In fact, it looked better than the rest of the building. So we repaired and painted the yard sides, too.
This gives an idea of what the neighbor's side of the shed looked like, with the siding boards falling off, and no recent paint.
Click inside finished to see the inside.
This is the rear of the shed with work already commenced.
Here is David, and then Ann, nearing the end of the painting. This side of the building is a hodge podge of various past repairs. We
tried to tie it all together a bit.
Here is a 'before' of the sides visable from the backyard. The chicken coop, you may recall, is at the very rear. They also
get the use of the screened area on the near side, which isn't shown in this picture. That's the camper top sitting
on the ground, before it had a home of its own.
The truck cap now has a stand, and you'll notice the permanently inflated rubber boat, too.
Ann did a yeoman's share of the painting. Here she is cheerfully working (on the shady side).
This is a work in progress shot. It shows the sunny area.
Here is the (modest) guy that foolishly painted the sunny side wearing only shorts.
We enjoy the weather, the project, and each other.
Here we are, nearly finished.
Here it is the next morning, pretty much done except for some minor ongoing touch up.
