Broke down and bought a camera cord. Too tired to do anything with it. After all the walking yesterday at the village, we walked all over the Zoo today. All this walking is no doubt offset by the superb meals each day dining out. Fran treated at Steak and Ale tonight - whoa - all one might eat prime rib AND desert. No wonder I'm gaining weight. . .

However, in lieu of 'real' pictures, here are two off Ann's phone: Brett and Jake

June 27, 2006 Tue

Can't seem to find a cord to download any pictures. . .

Most folks returning to their various homes in various parts of the country. We will too, in a few days.

All is well in MI. Good to see everyone. Brett and Jake off this morning to FL. Their flight last night was canceled due to storms.

Still waiting to enjoy a major midwest thunder dunder crash banging right overhead.

About 60 folks at Dad's memorial. Everyone spoke well. Adam's slideshow was very well received.

How we got a free night at the Vineyards on the Lake ~~

When we first arrived, there was a tent set up close to the beach. No problem, it was gone the next day. A few days later, another tent appeared - right in front of our window! Beach? What beach? It was a mistake on the part of the tent Co. None the less - when I squawked about the loss of a 'view' . . .

They also tossed in a bottle of wine.

Graduation! Moving up! No more middle school.
Evelyn and Cassady
Cassady took time out of a very busy schedule and band practise to attend Evelyn's graduation. Thank you, Cass!

Barb and her youngest, Anna (a senior next year) and Ann and Evelyn, a frosh next year.

June 13, 2006 Tue

Whoa! Evelyn's last day of school! Congratulations to an amazing student, and all around joy to live with. We are very proud of Evelyn.

Ann has had the HUG print, that I've owned since the early sixties, cleaned and re matted. It was due. The J.L. Hudson CO. of Detroit, MI. had framed it the first time, lo those many years ago.

Jack sends along this shot of their garden taking shape - and his two dogs. See them?

Barbara drew this picture of Dick's boat - and then they made it into a card, which we scanned. She does nice work! Dick and Laura use the cards for thank-you notes, etc.

The girls at the highschool graduation. Thomas is now a highschool graduate! Good effort, Thomas.

June 10, 2006 Sat

We got out and about this morning, on foot, no less. Walked several miles - only somewhat negated by snacking at the halfway point. Sausage quiche and eclairs, an interesting combination. Sort of healthy and sort of not. After walking downtown on Commercial we headed to the water for the return leg. One of us thought that sunglasses would not be necessary. That would be the person squinting. It did brighten up a tad after we got underway, to be fair. But, this is Washington, after all. These photos all taken with Evelyn's old D - 380. 'Eewww, it's so big. . .' Right. It fits in the palm of my hand, of course. OK, the first picture is a quickcam shot -

Another in that Odd Series entitled 'Eggman in the Pan'
I don't know why this seems to intrigue me. . .

Here is one from a year or so ago. . .

We wouldn't be surprised to learn that if you are unable to view the movies on this site, it's because they require the 'Flash' player. Which may be
downloaded (click) here

A remarkable series of photos showing a boat (the Cat Sass), belonging to some friends of Dick's at the Anacortes Yacht Club, burying her nose in a wave trough and going (S)ass over teakettle, as they say. Photos by Sean Trew, and thanks to Dick and the AYC group at Yahoo Groups.

All were fine, but for bruises, and the boat was recovered and will sail again.

June 07, 2006 Wed

From Dick, this picture of Evelyn using (one of) Laura's older Singers - Evelyn used this machine to make this dress.

And from Linda, a shot taken in CA on their travels from IL to our area. They are due in a week or so. Linda's camera is pretty awesome, and this picture as she sent it was about four times this large - the detail is incredible. It is shrunk a tad here for those WHINERS out there that complain - 'Your pictures are so big (at my 600 X 400 screen res) - can't you make them so I don't have to actually SCROLL to see the whole thing?'

Laura at the Pottery exposition

June 03, 2006 Sat

Went to the local Community Theater last evening. Enjoyed the play and local talent. It was 'An Act of Imagination', by Slade. Prior to that we did a partial Friday Night Art Walk thru downtown. We saw some of Laura's work (and Herself) at a Pottery Show Display in the old depot. Food and snacks provided. The new Bank of the Pacific building had it's grand opening - more food!

Here are Ann and Barbara in front of the bank. The bank opened in a building that was previously a bank, and even more previously a theater, of the moving picture variety. Paul was around somewhere, and they accompanied us to the play.

Our banker, Mike Trafton, in full Banker regalia for the grand opening. His is the bank that refinanced our house.

We finally saw a specialist to get relief for a 'flare-up', to which arthritis attacks are euphemistically referred. An xray was taken to perhaps reveal the cause of this first digit swelling?

Doesn't tell me anything.

The after 'stitch' picture, showing the new desk in place. Yes, it is a very wide picture. Still a lot of organizing to do in this room.

June 02, 2006 Fri

A tad slow getting into the new month. Happy June to you and yours. Get ready for summer. I guess the folks back in the midwest have already had spring and are into the high humidity and sweltering temperatures. Oh, well.

Girls getting ready for the big ballet recital -

This was celebrating David's birthday -

This is a 'before new desk' office stitch photo. That's why it's so wide. After picture to follow.
