Oh oh! The church festival is today, and it just started to blow up a storm. Really blowing hard, maybe it'll blow
right on by?
Ivey and Evelyn after the last day of school. Ivey has one more year at Mt. Erie.
Ever see anything like this?

The following photos were taken at the Mt. Erie elementary school yesterday evening. The occasion was a class picnic for the
kids to sign each other's yearbooks.
We started out in the gym, then headed to the playground after eating. I hasten to point out that Ann and I did not eat.
We are on day 5 of a cleansing fast.
Ever wish you could read minds?
Jeanne is helping to make these pictures more interesting! I wasn't going to shave until I got to eat real food, again. I
changed my mind after seeing this photo, and shaved last night before bed. Grandma always said that was the time a gentleman
should shave. Photo by Blair. (Who cut off my horns!)
Don't you just love candid photography? Ivey, Jeanne, her husband, Jerry, and Niomi are caught here.
Evelyn is caught thinking, "What to write in a friend's yearbook?"

Anna, playing 'Meditation' from "Thais" by Massenet, a classic. Anna memorizes her music.
Evelyn played the third movement of Sonata number three by Handel.
This may be Wai Chan's last year as a teacher. We will miss him.
This picture of hogan came today! Reaching for the camera.

Brett sends along a picture of Hogan, in fine form.
"And, if you'll give me your vote. . ."
Likewise, Adam sends along recent shots of Talia, Anne, and Devon.
Devon, recently graduated from MIT with honors.
Anne with Talia - already doing post grad work, of course. . .
Great mother daughter picture!

Adding the finished picture to the (motorcycle) story below. . .
Since the sun shone all day, also cut the front and back, weed whacked, trimmed the edges AND THEN degunked the lawnmower. I cleaned it.
Now it looks like new.

What is this? A motorcycle blog?
The problem with the faring is more than evident in this picture. An earlier (15 years?) fall cracked the fiberglass.
We'll attempt a surface, cosmetic patch. And maybe wash it?! Someone had attempted a prior repair by adding a piece of
aluminum to the inside and pop riviting the broken pieces to that. There is also evidence of some kind of 'fill' work.
There is also a glaring hole where pieces are flat missing, at this point.
The finished incarnation. I added epoxy to the inside of the crack on the wee hatch cover, but forgot to Bondo the outside!
The steps not shown were the several sand and fills, the masking for paint, and the painting.
The large hole is hidden by a patch, in the form of fiberglass strips dipped in resin and hardener. This will also
(hopefully) keep any flexing from cracking the repair, later on.
This will still leave the problem of the flaking finish on the rear 'trunk'. I'm trying to remember the mechanic's advice -
JUST DRIVE it! Remember, this motorcycle will go 120 miles per hour. Not with ME on it, but it will!
Watch me sell this thing next year for nearly two grand!
Now, over the cloth patch, fiberglass is applied. This is a product that you have heard of, called 'Bondo'. The towels are
in preparation of the sanding, which happens next. Sanding and filling happened several times, easier each time.
Happy Birthday to Anna! (yesterday)
Well, might as well show you the finished ('til next time) shower arrangement. After several false starts, it is ready
to go. I am reminded that pictures without folks in them are not very interesting. However, no one wanted to volunteer to
be photographed in the shower. . .
That copper piece in the middle of the pipe going to the shower head reflects a change in direction, when it was
decided to get the new faucet, and it supported the old pipe, which had been cut to accommodate the 'ugly' attempt.

Hey! It's summer! Send some summer pix?!
You will recall that we are trying to reinstall some sort of shower arrangement for Evelyn.
And that it was either going to be this ugly collection of patched together pipes and fittings,
OR - something new, and different.
Here are the old and new faucets, just prior to switching them out.
The new one is finally installed. Now to hook up the shower part. (the plumbers putty gets knocked off later.)
Just look at this shiny rascal!
